Achievable Rate With Antenna Size Constraint: Shannon Meets Chu and Bode
نویسندگان
چکیده
Using ideas from Chu and Bode/Fano theories, we characterize the maximum achievable rate over single-input single-output wireless communication channels under a restriction on antenna size at receiver. By employing circuit-theoretic multiport models for radio systems, derive information-theoretic limits of compact antennas. We first describe an equivalent Chu’s circuit physical realizability conditions its reflection coefficient. Such design allows us to subsequently compute given receive thereby providing bound system performance that compare standard size-unconstrained Shannon capacity. also determine effective signal-to-noise ratio (SNR) which strongly depends experiences apparent finite-size degradation where only fraction capacity can be achieved. further optimal signaling bandwidth shows impedance matching is essential in both narrowband broadband scenarios. examine presence interference showing constraint immaterial interference-limited Finally, our numerical results derived as function SNR reveal new insights physically consistent systems.

Kalman meets Shannon
We consider the problem of communicating the state of a dynamical system via a Shannon Gaussian channel with a given power constraint and no feedback. The transmitter observes a possibly noisy measurement of the state. These measurements are then used to encode the message to be transmitted over a noisy Gaussian channel, where a power constraint is imposed on the transmitted message. The receiv...
متن کاملOn the achievable rates of multiple antenna broadcast channels with feedback-link capacity constraint
In this paper, we study a MIMO fading broadcast channel where each receiver has perfect channel state information while the channel state information at the transmitter is acquired by explicit channel feedback from each receiver through capacity-constrained feedback links. Two feedback schemes are considered, i.e., the analog and digital feedback. We analyze the achievable ergodic rates of zero...
متن کاملAchievable Rate of Adaptive Wireless Multicast with Antenna Diversity in Nakagami Fading Channels
We derive the average achievable rate of an adaptive wireless multicast method with antenna diversity in Nakagami fading channels when the rate is selected by the minimum signal-to-noise ratio (SNR) of the multicast group. Based on the limiting distribution of the minimum SNR, we then derive an approximation to the average achievable rate, which provides accurate values easily in a wide range o...

In this contribution, the Gaussian channel is represented as an equivalent thermal system allowing to express its input-output mutual information in terms of thermodynamic quantities. This thermodynamic description of the mutual information is based upon a generalization of the 2 thermodynamic law and provides an alternative proof to the Guo-Shamai-Verdú theorem, giving an intriguing connection...
متن کاملATM Rate Based Traffic Control with Bode Principle
Bode principle is applied to carry out traffic control for rate based ATM network, which guarantees the higher buffer utilization, buffer overflow-free, and well utilization of bandwidth. The principle confirms the relationship between the threshold of buffer queue and the network bandwidth, as well as the relationship between the threshold of buffer and source input rate. Theoretic warrant of ...
